The wait

I know you can all emphathize.

Two does were allowed to run with a buck and their first day of exposure was 158 days ago. They look open in the back, have bagged up and one lost her ligaments completely.

Every day I think "this has to be it" yet they stand their, chew their cuds and torture me endlessly.

The ff doesnt' look very large and isn't very bagged up so maybe a single. The other, however, is obscenely enormous and her bag just gets bigger and bigger.

Dumb question: the latter has had milk in her bag for a few weeks now. I know you need ot leave the colustrum for the babies etc. but... doesn't it go bad just sitting there? Maybe not. If I barely pull on her teat, i get a stream. Poor girl - she is having to swing her legs to miss it right now!

Pray for safe deliveries and SOON would be good. I HAVE to do a presentation on Monday at work so, guaranteed, they'll go into labor Monday morning... sigh.

Wow - those look like big babies.

Are you a neat freak and make your goats birth on a tarp so - no fuss, no muss? ;-)

Cute

Question ligaments?

Speaking of losing the ligaments...when my pygmies had their kids I was able to check for lost ligaments. Now my angoras are due and I can't seem to find theirs. They must have them because their due dates are the 16th and the 21st. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Are angoras harder to feel or do they lose them earlier? Thanks for your advice.
Tricia
