NAIS at our next club meeting

I don't as a rule post information on our goat club meetings here, but we've got a lawyer coming to talk to us about NAIS. She's apparently quite informed on the issue and agrees with most of the small farmers on this.

If anyone is in the area and would like to attend, give me a PM. It will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 2 pm in Albion PA.

I can put you in touch with a man who just spoke at a senate hearing in PA against NAIS, you could invite him to your meeting if you want. He and his wife are my best friends, and they are goat people, too. He lives near Titusville.

Great! I will PM you with his contact info after I call him and make sure it is ok. His name is Lee, and he has been instrumental in PA's fight against NAIS. He has also had several radio interviews and meetings with congressmen and senators. He and his wife are great Chrisitans, and once you meet then you will never forget them!

If you'd care to PM me with your contact info, I can immediately pass it on to him.

Kitty, we have club members from the Titusville area. I'd love to meet these folks and get them to join too! It's a whopping $10 a year.

You posted while I was editing my post asking if you'd PM me your contact info so I can pass it right along to Lee when I talk to him.

Okay. I had Verizon when in PA, I agree that it is expensive.... and don't use them for long-distance calls!!!!!! They require your first-born child in addition to an arm and a leg! I will be able to get DSL because we are in what was a proposed "yuppie" subdivision (out in the middle of NOWHERE!!) that failed to fly...... hooray!!!!... and DSL was one of the perks.

Got your PM, I will pass the info on to Lee today. I am sure he is out in the garden right now (unless it is raining there), but will call him at lunch time.

DSL here with Verizon is $14.95 a month. Satellite is about $60 a month. Verizon isn't available everywhere though...goofs!

You are not that far from Erie, and it used to be ranked as the 4th largest city in PA (it might be 3rd by now)... it blows my mind that you can't get DSL even at home. Being in the country in PA is not the same as being in the country out here in the outback of Nebraska, where this county has a population density of about 3 people per square mile! DSL here is quite a bit more expensive, about $40/mo, but I am trying to get a telecommuting position and DSL is a necessity for the job.

Used to be third...now fourth. Allentown beat the pants off us a couple of years ago.

I asked the stores head butcher about fish from China.

After telling me that the the Chinese fish is usually better than fish from OTHER countries, he told me that they can trace EVERY lot of meat clear back to the producer. Every chop, every steak, they can trace back to the man who raised it.

I asked him what the purpose of NAIS was, and he just shrugged and said that they have ALWAYS been able to trace the meat, for as long as he could remember. And, this is not a young man.

So, what IS the point of NAIS????????????.

NAIS all boils down to control. Plain, simple, and absolute.

Ever read any Russian history? Interesting parallels with what is going on in this country right now! The simple fact of the matter is that when you control a peoples food supply, you in fact, control the people. This country is working its way back to ancient lord/peasant system.... want proof? Look at the ever DECREASING middle class, and the growing poverty class. Ask who gains control when this happens... the wealthy and the beaurocrats willing to do their dirty work.

This is just my opinion.... and I have been called "crazy" before so it doesn't really bother me anymore. I don't ever ask anyone to take my word for anything, I instead ask them to check it out for themselves....in this case, history is full of instances where a given group begins to take control in subtle ways, then attacks the food supply and seizes total control.

All you need to do to see what will happen next with NAIS is to look at history's parallels... unless we stop it now.

It's too bad we won't be hearing from Ruth anymore. I was curious to hear how this meeting goes.
