2007 Spring Kidding Season Over!!

The Spring Portion of the 2007 Kidding Season ended Sunday morning. Nigies and a few others will be bred for fall kids to have fall milk. With of course TWIN BUCKS But, we needed more bucks to raise for meat. We sold 7 over the weekend and the ordered as many more as we had. Which is not 6 more.

The doe that kidded is an 8 year old Alpine. She had the first kid when I went out there. Since she was keeping kids, I left her alone and went back out 10 minutes later and pulled #2, just wasn't quite up there yet. Mama is doing well with her huge meat boys. Named Goat 1 and Goat 2 by my brother. The doe has an ENORMOUS udder. She looks like a holstein running around in her pen. Problem is she is not letting it all down yet, so we can't even relieve her yet. The boys are eating as much as they can and should be ready to eat within 4-5 months.

Oh, I will post Pics of the babies and mama's udder as soon as I have time. So don't yell at me Please. I delivered these kids barely able to stand up and sick. LOL Much better now though.

Mine too!

25 kids born (21 bucklings/4 doelings)...what the heck are the odds on that?
