Goat porn! Preggo or not?

O.K. I could use some opinions. I have two does who were bred in March. One, Lilly, we think miscarried at six weeks along...almost a month ago. We never saw any heat signs in Lightning, we figured it didn't happen b/c she is half Alpine--we thought we missed her season. With Lilly it was obvious. We saw the deed on that one! :baby04:

But I'm wondering. Lilly still has an elongated vulva--don't know long that would last after a misscarriage. We only saw a bit of blood, though....so I still wonder. The first pic is of Lilly.

The following pics are of Lightning. Let me know what you think.

The last black doe is our Kinder who kidded in March for reference.

Thanks!

I don't have an opinion on the possibility of pregnancy but I had to tell you-I loved your comments above.

OK this is my opinion. The first one looks poochy to me, the second one does not.The third doesnt either.my guess would be the first one took. Not always poochy though.A little bit of blood doesnt always mean they miscarried,I had a doe show some bloody signs and she carried all the way threw. The udders wouldnt really show up till they were closer to the last 4-6 weeks or so.By the end of June the babies would only be the size of a squirrel. Then you could start seeing a belly growing.

Wow. I was thinking Lilly was far too thin to be pregnant. I guess she wouldn't show for awhile. We saw her get bred on March 21--so she wouldn't be due until the third week of August or so. I kept thinking after we thought we saw the miscarriage that her vulva still looked pregnant.

Does anyone know how long that might last if she DID miscarry? It's been almost a month now.

I guess the pic of Lightning's teats and tummy don't matter either, at this point--even if she did get bred--the farthest she could be along is 3 months. But I don't think she is--according to her, um...can I say the V word here? If you compare her vulva to Lilly's there's a difference. Oh and what do you mean by poochy? Do you mean the vulva or the entire area? I know the vulva looks longer.

I had transferred my hope from Lilly to Lightning....guess I need to switch back. I just want SOMEONE to be pregnant!

I am definitely not experienced except for this one kidding season with my seven does. What I noticed (and I saw each breeding, but had no confirmation by labs) by about two months was the sides or bare skin around the vulva on my goats was puffier. It made the "crease" appear a little longer, too. The area got puffier as the pregancy progressed.

On my does just freshened a month ago, the area looks completely different, now. It is flat or sunk in, like someone pulled a thread and "tightened up" the area .

I hope your goat is still carrying kids for you! If I were to make a guess, I thought the first doe looked puffier than the others.

I agree, yes, no, no. However, I will say, skinny doesnt mean much. We had a doe who we didnt think took, because she wa SOOOO small, that delivered triplets.

I hope you guys are right!

My only fear is (besides the blood I saw at week six) that I didn't see what Lilly looked like "back there" before we bred her. I didn't know about the pooch thing then. I do remember noticing the swollen and legnthened look even before we saw the blood. Is that possible so early?

Hopefully, she didn't look like this all along....but since Lightning doesn't I guess there is hope.

I guess I'll start the beet pulp with her again just in case to try and get some weight on her.
