Those of you who feed this to your bucks for uniary calculi, how much do you give them and how do you feed it to them? Oh, and where do you find it? I've checked with ever local co-op and none of them carry it.
Thanks

It comes premixed in feed too. Have you checked for that?

I have yet to find it in grain where I am. Plus, I don't feed my boys grain, so Anyone one else have any ideas? I have asked this before and I still can not find it. My CO-OP does not even carry it.

You can get it through Hoegger Supply, it is pretty inexpensive. I am not sure what the dosage is, but I feed about a tablespoon mixed with water and dose with a syringe once or twice per week. How often really depends on the animal, what they are eating, etc. Some put it in the water. I prefer my way, that way I know they got it and how much. You can also sprinkle over a handful of grain or their favorite treat and feed it that way.

We always got ours from pipevet.com you use it as a prevention at 1 teaspoon per head per day....treatment is 1 tablespoon every couple of hours until he is peeing freely, then 1 tablespoon per head per day for several weeks, than back down to prevention dosages.

If you are not feeding grain you do not need to be using AC. You could not put enough in the water to know that he is getting the amount he needs.

We use a meat goat pellet for our bucklings and bucks (when they are being fed grain). I use Pilgrims Meat Goat...I don't use the show goat because the extra protien is from fish meal....Vicki

I take my goat pellet, squirt some wheat germ oil, stir, then put a half teaspoon on the pellets and stir again. That way I know it sticks to the feed. The wheat germ oil has done great for their coats also.

ok, I house my wethers, pregnant does and others all together. Only my bucks and my nursery are seperate.
Q: Can AC be used in this situation? Or is it harmful to youngsters or preggos?

I use a meat goat medicated grain for all my kids and Bucks. It had Cocci, and AC in it. Both in one and that is the easiest for me.

It's just a mineralized salt, it will not effect does or kids or pregnant or not. It does add some bypass protein via nitrogen, which is a good thing. Vicki
