The time has come - clipping the herd!

With temps forecast for the 90's this coming week, it's time to take the winter hair off the herd. It's an itchy job, but I do love how they all look after they've been clipped - you can really see the goat under the hair, especially on the bucks. I've waited longer this spring than usual because the temps have bounced around so much, but I don't think I can put it off any longer.

It ought to be interesting to do some of the newer goats, who are WILD! I'm thinking this may set back the taming process a bit. Maybe frequent bites of apple and carrot during the clip will help...

I'm just curious what kind of goats you have?

We have Alpines, Oberhasli and LaManchas. Oh, and a very spoiled old pet Nubian.

OHHHHH have fun!!!!!! I find the wilder they dance, the wilder their resulting hairdo!!!!!! ;-p My mini horse had a wonderful chop job look for a while - working on that whole, no circling in the cross ties thing ;-)
