whiteheads under the tail - explicit details - what to do?

I'll start with a short introduction: Rosa is a second freshener with one boy, 9 days old. She is nervous, high strung and she gave a fast birth, which seems very consistent with her flighty nature. The birth was almost violent, she just spit him out!
She has been leaky on and off, as it is normal after the birth. I did not give her a good prenatal trim, as my husband is out of town, and it was a corrida with me doing it all alone - so she got some trim, but clearly not enough.

Now to the main part: yesterday I noted she is holding her tail in a strange way, covering up her private parts - an examination showed some mock, which I cleaned up (another corrida), using wet towels and Preparation H wipes. There was a lot of wet muddy/bloody mess there, one the bottom of her tail, the butt itself was clean. I noticed one or two whiteheads on her tail, once I got the muck cleaned up. Since I had to practically ride her for this, the cleanup was only B+ quality.

This morning there were more white heads, more mess. Another corrida, another cleanup, this time I added talcum which she seemed to appreciate and started holding her tail again out and up.

This evening, more muck, all crusty (from vaginal leaking, not from the skin on her tail) - another cleanup. This time the whiteheads are on the skin surrounding her vagina and as I was pressing wet cloth against it, some started to break and ooze some. I cleaned her up with warm soapy water, more talcum (again she seems to like it). I wonder if I need to step it up a bit, and with what? I have a zink salve which works miracles on zits. Iodine? (Sorry Vicky - I was raised on it and trust your opinion but I just must ask). Peroxide?

After the cleanup just about an hour ago I noted she was having a little more discharge, and instead of keeping her tail up as a reputable goat, she keeps covering up her private parts! Then she gets it on the bottom of the tail, and keeps rubbing it in. More talcum may make more muck and the flies are just getting going!

thanks

Tea tree oil works wonders!! that or peroxide. I have nothing against iodine I just don't have any experience use it on that kind of problem.

pm me if you want details on what I am dealing with in another goat - only slightly simular - and what I am using that is working.

This morning we applied peroxide and topical antibiotic (Novosporine) - she was looking terrible. Major wash, struggle and medicines - will see how she is in the evening.

Those sound more like infection pimples than whiteheads, so using antibiotic on the skin is a good idea . . . I've heard some goats get outbreaks of staph aureus during stress, and kidding is stress.

Just when her behind will be the dirtiest, that's when she needs it to be clean and dry. Figures, huh??

I personally would use peroxide too, even Betadine the first day, it dries the skin and slows healing down but zaps the bugs dead, so I only use it the first day. After that I'd ease up to Neosporin or Triple antibiotic cream.
