New Baby!!!!!

We had a new Doe born today, she looks just like her mama, she's a Pygora! I'm trying to get a picture to transfer from my phone to post The only thing she seems to have a problem walking, it's like her front legs are bent just above her two front feet, is that just because she is newborn? She has nursed but not for very long at all but she seems to be getting some and seems lively and alert. :baby04: I'm on cloud nine!!!!!

I've read other peoples posting of the same thing with their kids. Most seem to develop normally. It's like the tendons are extra stretchy.

I wouldn't worry too much on the legs. The ones that we have had seem to strengthen fairly quickly. We were sure one of ours was a mutant because the feet rolled so much. He is very much living up to his name (Feist) now. Within a few days they were getting better, a week and you couldn't tell that there had been anything wrong.

Congrats on the new baby, enjoy.

It's contracted tendons, and there is a genetic cause. Happens with calves, too. They will straighten over time. When I get one like that, I like to keep mama and baby together in a small paddock or pen for a few days til they straighten. Makes it easier on the kid, and the doe is more confident that way.
