Scur Nippers

My lamancha/nubian has a scur growing back into his scull, so I just bought Hoegger's Scur Nippers to nip off the end. Question is, how much should I cut the scur back? Also, will his scur bleed?

How long is it?

I have a buck who continuously scurs, even though he was thoroughly disbudded AND has had the scurs banded a few times. I usually trim back a half to an inch at a time. I have my disbudding iron handy to cauterize if it bleeds. It's hard to say if yours will bleed or not. One of my buck's scurs never bleeds and we can cut a couple inches off at a time, and the other bleeds no matter where we cut it.

It is about 4" long. I guess I will try cutting a 1/2" at a time.
