Anyone else hear of poisoned livestock feed?

This was posted on one of my email groups and I was wondering if anyone on this forum knew more on the subject or had experienced any losses corresponding to the pet food recall time period.

"Sorry to inform some of you people but for those who don't know, not
only was pet food poisoned but live stock food as well. I was
informed friday that the news paper publised China admitting
intentionaly putting the chemical in pet and livestock foods. We eat
our live stock. We need to be of greater concern regarding this
matter. What percentage of this event have transpired from poisoned
live stock to human through consumption? I believe this is a serious
matter. I lost some live stock, spontaneously, due to symptoms such
as kidney stones, chicken and goat. I am having my animal food tested
for contamination. I did not pay any attention to the event because
the focus was on PETS and not live stock. I did not understand why
the deaths were back to back. It was friday evening discussion that
opened my eyes regarding live stock deaths across america from
poisoned feed."

I guess I missed this if it made news since I rarely catch the TV hub-bub -- no TV for us during dinner time!

Its been in the news that some hog and chicken feeds have been contaminated in several states. The chickens have already been eaten and the hogs are quarantined.

It's my understanding that the livestock feed became contaminated because pet food that doesn't pass quality control is sold as a livestock feed additive. So it's contaminated pet food that got mixed into livestock feed, and not two separate contamination issues.
