Size question

My 6 week old nubian is almost as big as my 6 month old saanen from what Ive read when grown they should be about the same size the saanen is heavier than my nubian is this normal?

I think we would need to know what that size is. It could be any combo of large nubian/small saanen. Do you have photos?

That being said, some genetic lines grow faster than others - some will get to full adult size faster.

And how long have you been on the forum? Most folks after getting some good information on worms, cocci and feed management are so happy with their kids from that point forward. Our group of 8 week old Nubian girls are in the low 40's (41 to 43 pounds) as of yesterday. I strive for a minimum of 10 pounds each month, anyone not hitting that mark is looked at critically...the 3 doelings I kept out of the quint litter are in the low 30's, so really good also.

If the care of your nubain kid is better than the care you gave your saanen, than yes you would expect her to outgrow her. Great job...Vicki
