Is this Doe prego??
I am just not sure on this Doe. All my other Does that are due at the same time I have confirmred by feel. This Doe however, I thought I felt something a month ago. Then for a couple weeks felt nothing, not really putting on any weight. Never seen her come back into heat. Then yesterday while her belly was full I thought I may have felt something and today she looks alittle wider, wierd. Everyone is healthy womrmed and in great condition.
Here is a picture of her. She would be due in 5 weeks. She is a very long and narrow Doe.
What do you all think.

In two-dimensional photos tough to say if her vaginal area is pouffy, but even that's not a sure sign. Is she a ff? What about her udder? Are you seeing the startings of one? You may have confused full belly/rumen with a kid? I do know some does will darn fool you right up to the end!

out of 8 does that had kids in March one was a complete surprise as there was no sign what soever. She had twin bucks and would not accept them. Walked off as if she had never even been prego. So I have the priviledge of being surrogate MOM.

Oldentimes, I would say yes she is. So far I have been 100% correct on telling by looking at their butts. I have had several people say "You can not tell by looking at their butts", but I have been right on all year. I also had a lady have me come look at her Angoras. Her Vet and sheerer said yes, and I say NO. I was right, they were both wrong. Anyway I say yes on your doe. Good luck and keep us posted.

SweetGoats--what do you look for when looking at their butts? To me those pictures do not really show anything out of the ordinary... although the swelling on the sides of the top picture could possibly indicate pregnancy, however it the doe is standing front feet higher too and could create that appearance from that.

Tami, I really can not say. I can just tell by the shape of the Vulva. It has NOTHING to do with swelling. I don't even have to know what they looked like before they were "breed" I only look at the swelling for when they start getting close to kid.

Thanks SweetGoats. LOL I was just trying to see what you saw. as for the swelling I wasn't talking about swelling of the vulva, I meant her sides in the top photo looked puffed out toward the hips there like she might be pregnant, but that might be the elevation of her front feet too.

Thanks Sweet Goat,
I knew there was someone on here who was really good at this I forgot who it was LOL!!!
Glad you responded.
Yes there is a slight puffy but not much so that is why I was wondering.
I noticed her vulva was long and I thought I read somewhere that that was an indication of preg.
She just isn't as poofy as the others. She is totaly different in confirmation then the others also much longer so I thought maybe she would be carring the kid up further then I would exspect.
She never reclycled which was odd also so I was just not sure. I did have another Doe I thought was bred ingnored her talking in Feb, because she can be quite verbal. Then come March she was very presistant in letting me know she was not bred, so I re-bred her .She had she has not made a sound since , so i would think this one would of came in also if not bred.
Thanks you so much I was really hoping she was bred.
I will keep you posted she is not Due till May 28th.

Sweet goats, how close to kidding can you tell if they are bred? 1 month? I have two does that are due in the middle/end of June that I'm not sure of.

I can when the are about a month or less pregnant. I had a doe that was with the buck "he thought she was lonely LOL" and I saw her a week later and I told someone that she was pregnant and I was told NO he wasn't in there long enough, and she saw him the whole time. (right). She is pregnant, and due in June while we will be at a HUGE fiber goat show, so we have to decide, do we take her (not show now) to be able to watch her, or do we leave her home. The problem is she is rather small and I would just be to worried about her. So She will come and she will have a kidding private area set up incase she decides to deliver while we are at the show. I just pray she goes before we leave.
