What have i done?!?! (pic)

Ok I went and took the pygmy cross buck to the sale barn this morning. One less goat right. He sold for $30 before fees. Out comes these 2 bottle babies and they sold one and then they started auctioning the cute little black one and I bought her for $33. I know when my daughter gets home from school she will be thrilled but.... I did not want to buy anything
Can't get a better picture right now since she bawls whenever I put her down and tries to get back in my lap.

A $33 Nubian doeling? Not bad at all! I love the black ones, too.

Her paperwork says boer cross but they were pretty much calling everything thing there a Boer.
What I did was buy when I was only there to sell. I now have a goat baby in my house and on my lap. All this equals me having to be very nice to my husband this evening
I have no will power what so ever when it is little babies which is why I have goslings and ducklings in my mud room. I am going to ban myself from going to the sale barn again.

$30 in, $33 out, that's actually only a $3 baby, right? Just don't count in hours, feed, etc.

Oh congrats on your new girl, she's very cute! I have the same unfortunate weakness for babies, and up until very recently, had a living room full of baby ducks, chicks & goslings too. Fortunately, I have yet to go to a sale barn. If I did, I know I'd be in HUGE trouble because I'm already over my animal limit now!

Feral I know you are kidding. If I could not take a joke I wouldn't have gotten married.....lol
That picture is not very good When you look at her there is no reddish brown. Maybe it was the flash. She is almost totally black and she has been named Midnight by my daughter who is being totally spoiling her.
After I bought her I walked out and did not stay to see my own goat come out. I did not want to risk it.
I took that big tag out of her ear. Cleaned it and used some neosporin. Will the big hole stay there or will it shrink?
Her paperwork does not say if she has been vaccinated, should I CD&T her? 1 ml/cc?
She is appx 2 weeks old.
Thanks

I don't know about the hole . . . but I'd give her everything you'd give to a newborn kid. You can't be too careful. You don't know if she had colostrum or not, so I'd treat her as very fragile, expose her to the environment slowly, do cocci prevention, all that.

The dose for CD&T is 2ml or 2cc.

I had the tag removed from my wether about 11 months ago and the hole shrunk a small bit, but hasn't completely filled in. I guess it depends on how big it is initially. His won't ever fill in completely by the looks of it.

Your baby is precious!
