Does anybody have

a milking goat that they would be willing to part with? I've tried before and I know it's the wrong time of year, but I need to try anyway. We just discovered one of the kids is allergic to cow milk. We live in the Big Horn Basin area of Wyoming. Not too particular about breed. Just want a friendly one that has milk. Thanks!

I have 2 I'm fixing to sell, but I am way down here in Texas! And actually, this is not a bad time of year to buy milkers as does are kidding in the spring and are fresh with milk. Good luck to you, if you keep looking, I am sure you will find something. Insist on healthy and tame animals, nothing less. It's hard to be picky when you need something right away, but try to be.

I have one, but we are in Oregon, and also too far away from you. But Feral Nature is right that this is actually the best time to be looking for does in milk. The bad time is fall and winter, when the does are drying off and everyone is running short of milk.

If you search goat lists and websites online, you should be able to find a breeder near you, or at least closer than we are.

Which ones are you selling? How much are you asking?

Western SD has several. The sale barn in St. Onge has a goat sale on Thursdays and this time of year you can get nice milkers for little $$ if you don't care what breed. pm & I will see if I can put you in touch with someone.
