Talking Sara's in labour!

Sara, my Alpine FF, is definitely in labour. Hollow tailhead, hooked tail, and talking, talking, talking! Mostly complaining from what I can gather - and she wants me to stay close and hold her hoof. No discharge yet, but she's arching her back every little while. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on her - and breaking the speed limit this afternoon when I'm driving the bus! I'll probably just slow down at each stop and throw the children out the door.

Sara was my first "friendly" goat, used to climb in my lap and fall asleep, will follow me anywhere - so I'm quite excited.

Heheheh...that's funny. Such an image I get of children flying everywhere! Don't rush the bus duty, everything will be fine. Congrats!

Are you kidding??? (no pun intended) -- I would let the little boogers walk home!
Good luck.

Me too Jim, that was hilarious. I can see Pookshollow now tossing kids as she rolls on by without even stopping.

She might not even let them off the bus at all and head straight home.

Yep, I can see a field trip at her house. Good Luck. Now you know it will happen as soon as you leave, and all will be fine and she will be a wondeful mom. Keep us posted. Good Luck.

I'll tell ya - the way they were behaving tonight, I should have tossed them off the bus!

And, yes, Sara kidded in the hour and a quarter that I was gone.

Twins! One of each, snow white Saanen crosses. She wasn't too sure about letting them nurse at first, but once I held her and they figured it out, she was ok.

I had to go to the vet to pick up my JRT after neutering today - showed up in all my gory coveralled glory. The vet might be interested in a couple of wethers for pets later this summer.

So this is the second pair of "spring" babies born in a howling snowstorm - gotta love Canada. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Glad to hear that all went well. I hate to say it but I knew it would happen. Congratulations

Of course it was bound to happen! It's "Goat's Law" which is right up there with Murphy's Law and Sod's Law.

Things didn't go so great later - I have a little goat living in the house for a few days. Sara rejected her.
