Thumbs up Our Bucks

These are our 2 bucks we will be using for breeding later. They sure have grown up on us.

The Nubian is Sundance Bambi a AI Baby and the other one is a Lamacha Witness Tornado..

That's funny Vicki because I know why you say that, but in seeing (dairy goat) breeders pages when I click on 'bucks' I see pics of the dams, maybe daughters, or sisters etc... lol, and I'm always thinking WHERE'S THE DANGED BUCK?

I can understand why dairy breeders see pictures of the female relations so important, but why not show the buck himself too? I mean, okay, yes, dairy quality of the females is 'most important' but what if said buck is cock-eyed and bow-legged. Just being crazy, but you get the idea--he could be ugly as sin and pass that on too.

White Eagle--they're handsome young men. I love the rich dark colors on the Lamancha, and the Nubie is a great color too.

The reason why most bucks arn't showen is because there are only 2 or 3 a year. The dams are important because his mommy is just what kind of udders his kids will have.

Bucks are big ole nasty creatures, who maybe get shaved once a year, few are ever shown, fewer are appraised. They are not purchased because they are handsome, long, dairy, etc...they are purchased because they conform to breed standard and were in my herd deposited sometimes before the actual mating takes place. They come from the best does you drool over for years, bred to a son of another drop dead gorgeous doe, he is only kept if his daughters turn into what you want, not because of his show or appraisal scores, if his daughters don't do what you want of them they are sold...period. So who really cares what a walking semen storage tank looks like? Some are lucky that their semen storage tank is all bright and shiney (my GE is that way) others like Winn are scratched and dented but still hold nitrogen and straws of semen

I actually do have and in rut photo of GE, I should have just taken it with him on his breeding leash he doesn't then lean against me! But photos of them will be candid on the website in progress. Unless I can talk someone into trying to pose 200+ pounds of lover trying to rub on you if you hold his collar! Vicki

Smile

All of the information is on my website.. Sorry for replying so late but things came up and had to be taken care of. I have their pedigree detail on my website. When you go to my site put your arrow on the photo first and then double click it a page should popup then on down below is information about either the grandparents or mother of the bucks.

I will try and get photos of their mothers later if need to be. Just being covered up here doing lots of things.

Thanks for the nice comments on my guys.. We are very happy with them.
