Also, now if it's ecoli, than dry the pens out, know you have it (and it sticks around for years) and deal with it via vaccination or not letting your kids be born in this area...but a 2 day old kid with this kind of problem and it's not ecoli, put it down. You are trying to save it's life to what end? It certainly isn't something that should be breeding anything, not all livestock born is normal and you have to cull some at birth.
Taking your time and energy away from the whole herd while you mess with one kid is not doing your whole herd or yourself any favors. Vicki
