Another Miracle update

I wanted to wait a little because of the way she's been yo-yo-ing, and still is. She's been with her dam and just getting her milk. I still give her a couple cc's ND at least once a day but I'm not tubing her anymore.
This morning she looked quite pitiful. She's still so small and not very active. She doesn't nurse vigorously but takes a few little sucks and goes droopy. She'll do that 2 to 5 times and she's had it. I keep checking mom's udder and it's never very hard so she must be getting quite a bit. I do milk some out to make sure she doesn't dry up. Her bout with diarrhea is over, finally. She'd had a bit of a relapse.
Tonight, she was walking all around the (very small) pen, nosing around into everything! She chewed on a piece of hay for a while. She even made a feeble attempt to jump a little!! I saw her punching into mom's udder pretty hard and she nursed a few times until her little belly was round. Bless her heart. I go in an lay down in the pen and she cuddles up to me and roots my neck and face, then lays down against me while I pet her. I put them in a slightly bigger pen tonight 5' X 8', to encourage her to move around more.
Little thing probably doesn't weigh 6 pounds at a week old. The kids born Friday morning are three times her size already.
She's got a long way to go yet but I'm still amazed that she made it this far.

my 'little' one had a rough start ,too. She had a mother with no milk, diarrhea, and an infection in her hoof. But, boy, does she go after the bottle now.And she even kicked and ran a little - mostly on three legs , but still!!!!She got meds from our vet and I gave her shots for the diarrhea and meds for her hoof plus soaking it three times a day.Got to figure out how to put photos on here.We even tube fed her right into her stomach at first- the vet said , oh, you can do it,too.I did , but it wasn't anything less than nerve racking.

Isn't is great when after all your hard work, they start to thrive?? Miracle was playing this morning!! She's very uncoordinated yet but what a beautiful sight to see her trying to pop around the pen. I saw her really going after mom's teat too. *happy sigh*
