babies only nurse from one side, what should I do

My babies are only nursing from 1 side. The other side is swollen. I have milked that one side. Shoul;d I continue doing this? She is very reluctant to let me milk her. Last year she let me milk her all the time with no problems. Is she being a pain because she is out of the routine of milking? Last year we milked her but she had no babies because they were stillborn.

Yes, I agree, continue to milk her regularly. She's sensitive on that side because she's swollen with milk. You can then tape off the teat that you don't want them to use, so they can begin using the other one.

Even when we have kids using both teats, I still bring the dam out to the milk stand to eat and she gets her udder washed, milked out and teat spray. She'll soon look forward to the routine.

I had the same problem a couple of days ago. Get some real sticky bandaids and cover one teat for a few hours. Milk it a little to make sure the milk is coming. As the Kids get bigger they will drink more. Ken
