Question URGENT post-delivery Worming Question

Hi everyone!

I know that I'm late in worming our goat who just gave birth. But, I went out to do it tonight, and I'm not sure I have the right stuff. So, now I'm in a panic!!! The breeder told me to give her Ivomec after delivery. What I have in the refrigerator, is Ivermectin for cattle and swine. I ordered it before she delivered and just put it in the refrig without looking at it. Maybe it's the right stuff?? I don't know! I also have SafeGuard paste. But, of course, I don't have the plunger you're supposed to use to go with it!!! I didn't know it needed one when I bought it. And, again...should have looked at it before now!!

Is the Ivermectin what I'm supposed to give?? And, do I give it orally? (it's for sub-q in swine and cattle) OR..do I have the wrong stuff all together???? Should I use the SafeGuard?? Or, try to find Ivomec at Tractor Supply in the morning???

I've never wormed before!!! Would you please help me??? Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! How do you do it?? And, what do I need???

Thank you all so much, in advance for your help!

Is the Ivermection clear fluid in a little glass bottle? If so, that's what I give my pygmies orally at 1 cc per 50 lbs. Someone correct me if this is wrong. This is the dosage that I received from a Goat 911 contact.

Ivomec is the expensive Ivermectin. Ivermectin is the wormer. If it is 1% ,the dose is 1cc for every 50 pounds of goat given orally. Pull it up in a syringe, remove the needle (very important) and stick it in the corner of her mouth, towards the back then shoot away.

Yes that is the right kind of Ivomec. Cattle and swine injectable works just fine. Dosage is 1cc per 50 lb. orally.
Draw the liquid up in a syringe, remove the needle, hold the goat in a head lock of some sort (HEHE ) put the syringe in the orner of the mouth and push the sryinge in a ways and squirt the liquid in. They won't like it but that's what you gotta do.

On the safe guard give 4-5 times the regular horse dose. So if your goat is 130 lb give her what a 520-650 lb horse gets. (You can use a long handled spoon or a long screwdriver - handle end- to push the paste out.)
