My First Kid Was Born Today!!!!!

she is a beautiful saanen/nubian doeling born at 5:55pm she is so tiny and adorable, walking fine, nice and healthy, creamy white socks and ears and dark chocolate every where else, her ears are almost long enough to touch her hooves lol....mom is a freshener saanen and her teats are tiny and she is tall and confused with the whole thing so baby is having trouble latching on without help, i may have to bottle feed if i cant get mom to lower to babies level, any sugestions? she just struggles and falls all over herself trying to reach which of course startles already nervouse mom, any way, its a happy day :baby04:

Give baby awhile to get her land legs. She'll be fine - I've never heard of a kid who couldn't reach the teats. They can reach up pretty high, as everyone in the "heat lamp" discussion kept saying.. lol

If you need to bottle feed, by all means, do it. You can leave the baby in with mom and keep trying to help her latch on. Mom won't care if she's bottle fed, as long as she smells right.
