Question Lice and pregnant goats

Just came in from goatios and found lice on ALL of them; had noticed some itching but didn't even think about it...I've got bedding down that can't really come out until weather dries up a bit(I've been layering dry over existing as needed), one kid on the ground, and 4 does ready to kid in the next 1-4 weeks. Is there anything SAFE I can spray on existing straw before adding more bedding. Anything I can treat goats with to help. I think this is going to be an issue until spring. It doesn't seem terribly bad on any goat but I was able to find some on everyone. I use ivomec+ when I worml, but I don't want to do any of the pregger girls as they're so close to kidding.

Diatomaceous earth. Period. Unless you throw a cloud full in someone's face, completely safe for all concerned.

I HAVE diatomaceous earth! Yippee! How do I apply it? Just sprinkle on bedding and girls? What about the new kid? Same thing? I bought some this winter for the pasture to control flies; didn't know it would work on lice, too! Thanks!

Yep, that's what you do. Pay special attention to any joints/crevasses/corners, as well, since bugs will try to escape and hide.

Dust it on them being very careful to not let them inhale any (an itsy bitsy amount is ok but no more than that as it can irritate and cause trouble). It's safe for expecting moms and babies, alike. It may take a couple applications before you notice a marked decrease in bugs (depends on how deep the bedding).

Good luck.
