I got a new little doeling

On Saturday I took my son over to a friends to pick up a couple lambs. while there, in the same pen, I saw two beautiful nubians, one doeling and one buckling. The buckling was huge his sister was sooo tiny. Jan said she was gonna cull her because she had a bit of an underbite. I certainly couldn't let that happen, so I offered to take her. Well she is an angel. I named her Bunny. For such a little thing she sure does have a huge appetite.

What a cutie! We adopted a new little Nubian kid this weekend, a doe as well. She's pure white, and very cute. I'll try to post some pics this week. I am surprised at what a big appetite she has too. What are you feeding your new baby?

Last fall I put lots of goats milk into my spare freezer, so she is getting that. The lambs too. Since she is so tiny and I usually let the dams feed, I've been feeding her anywhere from 6-10 ounces per feeding. Depending on whether I go 4 hours or 6 hours between. Is that enough or too much? She doesn't seem to be overly hungry, but does finish off the bottle.

Oh, did I mention she is probably polled...no horn buds yet!
