Dumore Goat Formula pellets from Tractor Supply

Does anybody else buy Dumore Goat Forumla pellets from Tractor Supply? We bought a 50 lb bag in January and none of the goats would even touch the feed. Usually they are so aggressive in wanting their pellets that they push and shove to get to their buckets. But as soon as we opened that on bag they not a one of them would even touch it. We took that bag back and traded it in for another lot number and the goats were just fine with the new bag.

Tonight it happened again. We opened a new bag and none of the goats will even touch the pellets.

I wonder if there is something wrong with these pellets. I mean these goats won't even touch the stuff. Does anybody else buy Dumore Goat Formula pellets from Tractor Supply? Has anybody else experienced similar problems with manufactured feed?

I had the same thing happen. I would fill up there pans and then end up throwing it away. I thought just maybe the bag was old when i bought it. So i tossed it and got a new bag. They ate it just fine. And they say a goat will eat anything. LOL I have no idea what was wrong with the dumor feed. But next time i will take the bag back. I was really worried that my goats were sick.

I've had problems with feed and corn from TSC being moldy. Once the bags were actually hot from the feed composting in the bags. Took it back and got it replaced but I'm a lot more careful about checking it out quickly after I buy it to the point of opening suspicious bags in the parking lot.

I had the same problem. It (the feed), doesn't seem consistant.

We will take this current bag back just like last time and have it replaced with a bag from a different lot number. Sure is odd though that goats who normally push everybody and everything out of their way to get their pellets but they won't even touch it from this bag.

We think if this becomes a consistant problem we may have to change feeds. What do other people feed their goats?

KCM, Try Kent goat feeds. I really like it, and my goats NEVER have a problem with it. I reccomend finding a different TSC, as it may not be the brand but the place you get it from. My TSC isn't really all that good about feed... They tend to be pricy too.
