Placenta disposal?

What do you do with the placenta if the doe didn't eat it, and just "left" it in your field?

I'd give it to the dog.

Burn pile (if abortions have been a problem that year) or compost.

My LGD's clean up everything and if they get full, I give it to the chickens.

Amen to the LGD's. Its a treat they look forward to. They also eat the docked tails from lambs when they fall off and I assume the mountain oysters. In fact my LGD's eat everything and anything that ight foul the barnyard, including clumpy poops if the sheep/goats leave any of those around. I figure they are just getting their vitamins from the poops.

you can feed it to the LGD, the Chickens, or burry them under your vegitable plants in the garden, all of which are excelent ways to both get rid of them and use them efficently
