It is 37 ABOVE out side!!!

And why am I telling you the weather on a goat forum???

Because for the last week it has been WAY below zero, and tonight it warmed up to almost 40 ABOVE! Below zero, as in -20 to -25!!!!!

My first does kidded tonight!!! I heard her scream at 3:15. Got out there a few minutes later, and one was on the ground!! I moved it into the stall (why do they insist on having them OUT??), she followed it in, and a few minutes later delivered another kid.

One is black & white, split right down the middle, front black, back white. The other is brown & white, same split! Got any names for half & half babies?? I don't know but I think one is a girl, the other ??? I don't like messing with them the first hour any more than I have to. Both kids were up by the time I came in. I will go check here in another few minutes to be sure she was done.

& YES, I will take out the camera when I go back out!

I'd pay money for temps above freezing right now. I have two does due next week.

undertand the joy of warm weather

WE have had winter in Utah this year. Our ground was white for over five weeks and there is still some ice on the ground on the north side of buildings. It is the first real winter we have had here in ten years, and the first since we started breeding goats.

Our warm weather is coming next week, around 40* above zero too! I plan on getting my kidding stalls and kid holding areas ready for March about then, lol.

Congrats on the babies! I can't wait for pics!
