You can worm now if you would like. But you should treat for coccidia.

eer my brain is not working. Anyways you can get either drug from your vet. If you have several goats you might want to order from one of the online catalogs Jeffers , caprine supply , pipestone vet. The medicine can be put into there bottles most are given for 5 days at a time.

TSC carries corrid , they also carry cd/t. What if anything have you done to them so far except feed them. What are you feeding them? what breed of goats ?

The dosages I use are
di-methox 1 cc per 10lbs given orally for 5 days

corrid mix 90cc of corrid with 60cc's of water . The dose 1cc per 25lbs for 5 days.

Being that you live in Texas You want to start worming every 21 days by 3 weeks of age, and start your cocci prevention (I use corrid, instead of water mix it with snow cone syrup) but you can use sulfa's also, for 5 days every 21 days. Once eating either a cocci prevention feed or about 5 months of age, most kids have excellent immunity to cocci by then. Alas worming is a mainstay of your mangement. Vicki

Vicki, when you say that kids have an immunity to coccidia around 5 months, do you mean that they can still have coccidia but not have problems from it, or that they don't "catch it" any more? Trying to learn here

They will always have coccidia but as they age it does not effect them except if they are really stressed. So in other words it is always in there system just not symptomatic.

You keep the coccidia levels low as babies . To many they get sick , none they would never build an immunity to them.

thank yall for the info. my little herd is 4 boer females, 2 nubian females - 1 a recent momma and two doelings and a very young boer male.
they browse on 19 acres of woods and pasture, get pellets but not a whole lot, bermuda hay available constantly, were wormed with a pellet type from tractor supply.

the closest goat neighbors are a mile away and probably not another herd for 10 miles so i have few places i can go to for information based on experience.

Stop using the pellet. I bet you are wasting your money. It probally does not work. Most folks in Texas use Cydectin with very good results.
