Big Buckling or What (pic)

My herd queen finally delivered last week. I expected twins or trips, well as you can see she dropped one big boy. She was in quite a bit of agony pushing this guy's head into the new world. The other pic is just thrown in for no particular reason...Enjoy kidding everyone.

That is a big boy, and a cute one at that. OK they are all really cute.
I have a doe that has given me 10 lbs and bigger babies every year. I am hoping as big as she is that it is not one HUGE baby or it is going to be 20 lbs.
Congratulations on such beautiful babies.

Oh, there's nothing cuter, is there?

We bought a buckling that was a single born kid, 15-16#. We named him Sherman because he was a tank. We used him on a few does that first fall and when they started delivering in the spring, we realized right away that he was giving us huge kids. We wound up inducing does to deliver early, to help keep those babies smaller. We learned that we could never breed him to virgin does. We offer our boys for stud service, so we ALWAYS advised the does' owners of Sherman's offspring, and, yes, we did refuse to breed him one time to a doe that was brought to us, because she was just a little doeling.
