Mu-se

I went to the vet to get Bo-se, but they were out and gave me a couple of doses of Mu-se. He said it was the same just 4x stronger.

Should I give it to them, maybe 1/4 dose? They are due in 3.5 weeks. Not had any selenium. I am not sure what the girls weigh, they gave me 2cc for each (1 cc for 100 lbs.).

I have some Bo-se ordered, it will be here Wed or Thurs.

Give this or wait on Bo-se? I also need to give CD/T, is it ok to give both in the same day?

Give the 1/4 dose. I am not sure if it is 4x's stronger so I will take your word on that. I would give them another shot when they freshen and hopefully you will have bo-se by then to give shots to the babies.

You can do cd/t at the same time. I would give shots over the rib cage.

Eeeek - my vet gave me a dose of 1cc per 200lbs....better check to make sure that's correct. Either I'm underdosing or you'd be overdosing!

I like using the Mu-Se, as one bottle goes so much further. For dosing newborns, Kaye White over on dairygoatinfo.com has used this method - draw 5cc sterile water (for injections) in a 6cc syringe, then draw up 1/4 cc of Mu-Se into that syringe. Shake well to mix and give 1cc per kid sub-q. I double checked that strength with my vet and he gave it the thumbs up too. Works great. You can get the sterile water from your vet.

I'll go look at the Mu-Se box later this morning and see what I have written for instructions...

Cheers!

Katherine

I went to fiascofarm and the dose is 1cc for 200 lbs.

I don't trust vets enough to give anything they tell me until I check it out for myself.

Would a double dose have killed my girls?? (they don't even weigh 200 pounds)

thank you for the list patty.

now, please notice that the amount of vit. e is always the same. i think it would be a good idea to give a vit e capsule when you give the mu-se
