Talking Could she be in labor!!!!!!!

[LEFT][CENTER]Well we have a doe this will be her second freshening and well we noticed that she was acting funny today and now she is pawing the groud, laying down and getting back and will not stay still and also her ligaments are gone,I can almost put my fingers around her tailhead but her udder has not filled with milk yet.
Could it be labor

Thanks
Marisa

You bet it's the beginning of labor, and if you had a bred date/due date of today I'd be losing sleep in anticipation....good luck and post photos..

Ooo another young 'un! I'm only 17, and have been on this forum for a couple years now, I believe. I Hope you stick around, it is probably the most educational site I've ever been to, and I learn more everyday from here. My breeding ethics for goats and most of my healthcare was learned and based on that of others from this forum. It's probably the best.

Anyhow, can't wait for baby pics!

Has she any mucus? If she lost her ligaments you are 24 hours out max. Is she straining yet? Keep an eye on her today and if anything troubles you let us know, ok??

Marisa, good pictures! I have an older Togg doe that doesn't bag up until AFTER she kids, so it isn't always a cut and dried sign. Same with ligaments. There one hour, gone the next. You may not always see the mucus, either. It falls off, and if you aren't there, you miss it. She looks very close, tho. Hope she goes today, as well as the two I've been waiting on..and waiting on, for a couple weeks now! I think they just do it to make us crazy, or teach us patience. Jan in Co

well false alarm her ligs are back and she is fine and I talked to my mom and she remembered that she did this for three weeks last year before she gave birth so I have three weeks to go probley,I think she does do this to me drive crazy. This most be how goats spend their past time driving there owners up the wall and laughing at us when we leave.

Thanks
Marisa

Marisa, I have a doe just like what Jan said. she is due anytime and she never bags up until after she has the baby.
I think you need to go have a talk to that Doe. I would go crazy if mine would do that for three weeks.
