Talking Twins!

Two little bucklings born this afternoon to Licorice. Both have nursed and are now sleeping together in their blanket-filled doghouse. Both black with toggenburg markings, like mama. These are Licorice's first babies and she has taken up the job like a pro!

Pictures tomorrow when it is lighter.

It's been bitterly cold here (again. still?) I was concerned about them not being fully dried off when I closed the barn last night, so I found two old dog sweaters and another blanket and threw them in the dryer. Then took the toasty warm stuff out and "dressed" the boys quickly and placed them on the warmed up blanket in the doghouse. This morning they were up and trying to move around but the dog sweaters were too big! I got two serious baby goat glares when I came in "Get these fool things off NOW!"

I took them off and the two boys went to work at Mama. I am going to have to supervise them for a day or two. One boy is much bigger and way more active (read pushy) than the other and the little one isn't getting his share when he wants it. With this cold, they both need full tummies often.
