Question new momma question

First I wanted to say how great this board is I am truely addicted. I am a new goat momma, and my female who I bought pregnant just had her babies last week. Everything went great they are beautiful little girls. My Question is that the momma goat has on big teat bag ( I am sure there are better terms for these parts but I am new) and one smaller teat bag. Is this normal or do I have a problem. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Congrats on the kids!! An uneven udder is not uncommon. It can be due to an udder injury in the past, past history of mastitis, uneven nursing by kids ior it can be genetic. As long as both sides are producing healthy milk(just milk a little out and check to be sure there are no lumps and the milk is white like it should be), its not a problem. Be sure to breed her to a buck with good, solid udder background to try and breed this out of her kids. Its not a problem, but it is undesirable to perpetuate.

Look it over for scratches or other injury. If it hurts her she won't let the Kids nurse. If the bag is hard milk it a little to relieve some pressure. Good luck, Ken

I'm guessing the kids have only been sucking off the one side since birth is why one side of her udder is bigger. I would milk out the big side and check for lumps in the milk. If the milk is clear on the big side try and get the kids to nurse on that side if possible. Once the kids get a little older they will nurse on both sides and this should take care of the problem. Good Luck

Thank you, vet said to get her on pennicilin. The udder looks much better and the babies are drinking off it. The vet said they wouldn't. I am alittle confused but like I said it looks like it is getting better. Thank you for your replies.
