Here are my photoshopped photos of ligaments. They are really easy to find on a goat. They are expected to kid within 12 hours of loosing thier ligaments. Once they loose thier ligaments, don't leave thier side; They'll kid as soon as your back is turned! LOL
The first picture is of a doe about noon or so, this last summer. She has lost her ligaments and kidded 5:00 pm that night or so (the norm for summer, I've found) the second picture is of a doeling, no loss of ligaments, just shows where they are. The final pics show my doe around noon, no ligaments, and kidded around 5:00 or so that day as well. You can see her carrying her kids low and back, and there is an depression on either side of the tail where the ligaments usually are. Also, her sides are hollowed out.
Ligaments are easy to find, and work for me every time. well, I have heard of stories of goats that loose and regain thier ligaments, but I doubt that this is that common at all.
