Question is my pygmy in labor???????

for the last 4 days she has been acting strangley, getting on her front knees with her rear up in the air and stretching, there have been minor changes in her vulva, she is very uncalm ...gets up walks aroun, lays down crys stretches, falls over then lays still for a moment then gets up and walks around again, for the last two days she has been losing small bits of mucas, but no major changes in the vulva and not enough mucus to even be noticable once it falls off, what is going on?if it is labor than how long does this kind of symptoms last?

Ohhhh I don't want to laugh cuz you might think I am mean or something LOL But I cannot help it It is just too funny...
It is called "The waitin' game"
That is what I am going through right now and so glad you could join the game.
I have posted and been updating for past 3 days now on the waiting.
I too have pygmys and I have noticed that they are a bit different in stages of labor than other goats. Mine has been doin' that stretchin' thing as well and she has been makin' her nest in the hay in a couple of places, has yours begun to do that?? Mine has been teasin me a couple times, i run out and nothin So just make sure she is comfy, with her hay and feed and fresh warm water. Are you prepared if you have to help her?
Let us know and feel free to check out my post if ya want...
We are here with ya if needed.

Have you checked her ligaments? After a doe looses her ligaments, you can expect kids in the next 12 hours... and I've found that goats will kid at a certain time in different times of the year. My does are bred for summer babies, so they'll have them late in the day after the heat is diminished. I don't know when a doe would go into hard labor this time of year, lol.

good luck!

I just ran across a site that showed the ligaments but I can't find it now. They are on either side of the tail.

Anyway here's a good goat site to learn from.

Here are my photoshopped photos of ligaments. They are really easy to find on a goat. They are expected to kid within 12 hours of loosing thier ligaments. Once they loose thier ligaments, don't leave thier side; They'll kid as soon as your back is turned! LOL

The first picture is of a doe about noon or so, this last summer. She has lost her ligaments and kidded 5:00 pm that night or so (the norm for summer, I've found) the second picture is of a doeling, no loss of ligaments, just shows where they are. The final pics show my doe around noon, no ligaments, and kidded around 5:00 or so that day as well. You can see her carrying her kids low and back, and there is an depression on either side of the tail where the ligaments usually are. Also, her sides are hollowed out.

Ligaments are easy to find, and work for me every time. well, I have heard of stories of goats that loose and regain thier ligaments, but I doubt that this is that common at all.
