Paitently awaiting
Bein' the type that is always concerned, no matter the issue, I am patiently awaiting for something to happen........
By the way, Vicki, that situation from yesterday,... All is well. thanks.
I have a nanny who is showing her signs of gettin' ready, been watchin' her and waitin'. She hates it that I put her in her stall, but if I didn't the older and bigger ones might could hurt her or her kid. Not to mention, they would pig all her food and hay.
She hasn't lost her plug still and no water bag ... Hmmm, seems I remember readin' where...ARK and a few others had posts similar to this
She is eatin' her hay and feed and drinkin' water. I have been in touch with a vet that teaches vet school that I had connections to get in touch with and he has been great with advice and suggestions for any of my goats, not just her.
Isn't it neat, how not everyone does the same thing, in raising their animals as the next.....
I am checkin' on her every few hours and hopin' she can wait til tomorrow when we will have a bit warmer weather, it has been blustery cold here lately at night. Wonder why, they always have to start kiddin' when the weather gets cold. She wasn't even suppose to be kiddin'. was some what of a surprise, just like another I got from someone... hmmmm strange. I guess they don't want to deal with the kiddin', don't know
Well, just wanted to share a little of my excitement........and impatience I guess I will just hurry and wait a lil more.
Hopefully takin' pictures along the way.

ALSO, you know what the strange thing about this is..........
She has been actin' like she was in heat on and off, throughout her whole pregnancy!! Yea, tail waggin', all kinds of things and tryin' to flirt with the boys, even had one of the young bucks try to mate with her, when he ran into her area, although she was already pregnant. Don't you agree, that is crazy?

Yep, I'm starting my waiting too. Told myself not to get impatient or nervous this year, but there seems to be no way for me to get it out of my head.
I''ve got 2does due Feb 4th (1 is huge, must be triplets & the other is FF that looks like a big single or small twins.)
Feb. 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th there is one doe due each day. After that I get a break until mid March.
Sure wish it would warm up a little here, but the forecast isn't calling for anything but COLD for the next week.

Hey, stacygoats, thanks for sharing the feeling what I am going through. I wish you luck on them.
STILL NOTHING..... She is in the stall and everytime I go out there to check on things she looks at me like..... Let me outta here. I think to at times, it is the fool Mom game LOL She is fine and no noises til I go out to barn, soon as I open door, BAAAHaaaa I think it is a sympathy thing to get me to feel sorry and let her out...
She is not in pain or she would be screamin' bloody murder all the time I know she is eatin' and drinkin' water still as of the last time I was out there. I have noticed where she has taken her feet and shuffled hay around to make her a bedding in a couple places, so I think she could be gettin' ready....who knows...
I guess she fooled me yesterday, cuz she hasn't even lost her bag and ligaments are there then gone...geeshhhh
Gonna go back out to barn as friend comes over later..we'll see what happens then, if anything... be back later

Well, here we are at the end of another day. A friend of mine came over and was feeling for ligaments and it seems that they are there then they aren't.. ODD huh? Well I guess that is just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. She didn't beller out until after we left the barn and has only done it 4 times this evening, not in distress, she is walking around and from what i can tell seems to still be drinkin' and eatin'
Now, this is something I am not really too familiar OR AT LEAST never noticed, any of my nannys doin', SHe will squat like going pee.... wondering if that is a pushing? When the others have pushed they were all laying on their sides (OR the ones that I have SEEN did that)
DO any of yalls do that squatting like that when pushing ????????
Yea, Allwolf, LOL your day is comin' LOL..heeheee Then you'll be here sittin' and typin' as those of us are now Yall have a good night, I will be gettin' up in few hrs to go check things and it is almost 11 pm now so i need some beddy bye. See yall tomorow.... God Bless

Yes, the ligaments can seem too "come and go" on some does--and yes, they can "squat" too push kids out..had a doe, following the herd..grazing along..squat for a minute, feet showing..walk and graze..squat again, kid half out..a few more bites of grass..oh my, guess i better turn around and clean that thing off!! (Darn, i missed that patch of clover!) Such an easy kidder--and wonderful mom, she would use her nose to push the kids between her front legs, till they found the udder! She got killed last summer in a tractor accident Her daughter will kid this year, am hopeful the "traits" will be passed on!!

Still not a thing
Well, we went through the night and nothing happened!
I decided last night, when I went to bed I was gonna just let God take control and if she did start kiddin' the dogs would let me know, they don't miss a thing
Or the donkeys would go to hee hawwing You know the animals shows where they all start tellin' the news.. Oh well :1pig:
ANyways, went out this morning after getting some much needed and walked in all was so very peaceful, was hopin' to find babies Well, it don't really make me mad, it is just discouragin' all the waitin' ... LOL It is like hahaa Mom the laugh is on you, the goat says.
I noticed she ate all her hay and the last of her feed I gave her before I went to bed and drank quite a bit of water, so we are still good there.
I am SO glad to know that I am not only one goin' through this (AMYLB999)....
WHEN did your doe breed and what is suppose to be her kiddin' date???? So yours is squattin' like that too??? Like I mentioned, I just have never SEEN any of them do that, is why I mentioned it last night.
The queen of the barn, Snowflake was in her own little world last night. Plopped right smack in middle of a big hay pile. Surrounded by her kids. What luxury oh brother....LOL
So, Allwolf, as you can see, still doin' the waitin' game....
I just hope she don't go when the snow moves in tomorrow, but as we all know how that works Let's pray it will be today or Friday.
I asked her could she wait til my son is gonna be home on Friday, so he can help if need be LOL Can always use an extra go getter or hand, ya know, what I mean.
Well, until this evening, yall have a good afternoon. Let's hear how yours is goin', AMYLB999 and any others that are playing the waitin' game .......
P.S. puttin' pictures of Baby Angel as she has grown, into get developed, hope to have by beginning of next week, she has gotten big and so fiesty.

Well our herd runs together so I'm not sure when she was bred. Her kidding date will be a surprise Her utter has been filling for a couple of weeks now, she has a small amount of discharge, and hubby thinks her ligaments are loosening. (does all this give you any idea how long?,,lol) So we're keeping her in the barn now and checking on her often. As big as she is now I figure she could use the rest anyway.

kidding
It does sound as though both your girls are getting close. Most of the time when my doe does not eat and show all the signs of being ready is a good indication that she is in early stages of labor. In general, but not always if a doe eats her feed in the morning she will not kid during the day. If she eats her feed in the afternoon she will not kid that night either. I have a doe that would not eat or eat very little in the morning and layed in the barn that day not going to the pasture. She would talk softly to her kids most of the day telling them to get ready and then before dark start fixing her hay just the way she wanted it and then start going in a noticable labor and usally have her kids at sun down. Good luck to you both. Yes Tenn. tonight would be a good night for her to kid. I am east of Birmingham and we are suppose to get a mixture of sleet and freezing rain, but it looks as though your area will get snow.

goatlover270 Hun she is waiting on that winter storm that is comming in tonight and for tomorrow. Then she will have them babies for you. I have a few friends that has goats and when theirs are suppose to have babies they don't. They seem to wait for it to get very cold or it pours rain to have their babies. I had a friend 4 weeks ago to have 5 of her does to have babies right when we had our cold snap here. They had their babies at 1, 3, and 4am that cold morn. Then she had another doe to have her twins right out in the field it cold and wet. They didn't know about that one until it was done to late. The twins was born out in the field it cold and wet an they froze to death
Just wait when we get hit with the winter storm she have her babies for you. I can't wait for mine to have their but still a little bit. Got one due in March so that isn't to far off.
Good Luck.

YEppppp you are probably right on nose about that one. So many times I have read on here where goats have done that. I had one last Feb. that did that. I had bf at the time stand out there with me He thought I was crazy standing out there waitin' and watching ROFL... well, it paid off anyways i had to pull the first one rest of way out (well he did help) LOL gotta give him som credit and I had to go in and get the other one..what a night that was. Out there in the barn, but for cryin' out loud, was so cold we could see our breath. She was one of my rescues, as so is this one now, and the pregnancies were not planned. I hope this never happens again...
Oh, but you watch, me and my soft heart...
I'll be right at it again ROFL
my friends say I just don't turn my back and walk away,... hey that is just me.
It is almost 4 pm and nothing. Went out there a lil while ago and she comes over to gate of stall looks so sad wants out, but I am scared the bigger ones will hurt her.... or she will kid after I go back in and one of the older kids or another doe will hurt it.
What ya think on that????? The other does are bigger even too........
Let me hear your opinion on that one, would you let her out I thinkin' not?????????

AMYLB999 How is it goin' with you and the waitin' ??? Any progress???
I am just in got cleaned up and gonna have a nice supper for a change. I am in due for some R and R LOL
I will go out and check on things, as always, before bed and just to peek and see if any progress on Polly. She ate her supper feed and has been eatin' her hay all day. I know that if she eats, she won't kid. That is how mine usually are, although I did have one nanny that kidded that afternoon after she ate breakfast. I guess she was ready for breakfast that morning to give her the energy she needed, after all she gave 3 kids LOL
Well, I am off to have some supper and will check back with yall at bedtime.

 good morning goatlover270
nothing here yet,,I'm starting to get a little impatient,,lol. I heard many say that their does lost interest in feed shortly before kidding but mine still wants to eat everything in site (if I let her). We're suppose to have below zero temps this weekend,,and hearing how goats have a knack for kidding in bad weather....
How are things with you? Any progress this morning?
