Unhappy baby not bouncing

i have these two bucks who were born yesterday, and the smaller of the two is very energetic and is bouncing everywhere. but his older brother, who is bigger than him, is laying around all the time and is not as active. mama goat is letting them eat, but i don't know how much the bigger one is getting. do you think i should try to bottle feed him for a little? should i even be worried? and this doe is about 6 or 7, and she has had many kids. thanks a bunch!

It couldn't hurt to give him an extra bottle or two. Have you actually seen this one nurse? Does his breathing sound good? Did you remember to iodine the cords? Is he bouncing some of the time or not at all? Is he hunching up? You don't need to answer all these questions for me; they are just things I would be looking at and asking myself.

When you get him up, does he stretch?? This is the biggest sign I look for if I think a kid may be "off". Get him up and just watch, if he is feeling good, he should stretch.

well, i have seen him eat on his own, but that was last night. today i made mama stand and he ate off of her this morning. i haven't noticed the stretching, but when i go out i will check. he is breathing fine, and yes we iodined his cord. he doesn't act like he is sick, just a little sleepy. we had a buck one time, and he didn't show any signs and the night that he started to, he died. he wasn't able to get the milk out, and we didn't know that. but with this little guy, i know there is milking flowing out. we thought about nutri-drench, but i wasn't sure if i needed to.
