Just wondering if everyone was having a doe year. I have 30 kids so far and only 8 have been bucks.

Talking Does

My doe year was last year with 8 does, 4 bucks.

This year, so far we have 12 bucks and 7 does. Glad we sold the billy after breeding was over. I want the first billy back!

Fern's newborn buckling brings the current tally up to 15 bucks and 10 does so far for the season. Only 29 more does to kid by mid-May.
Last year the does outnumbered the bucks by 2.

Edited to add...looks like only 28 more to kid, maybe only 26. Peach Blossom was glued to the buck pen and she is number three of Goliath's harem to come back into heat. She can just wait to bred! I do not want June kids!
She'll get bred in March with a half dozen other goats..

My ratio is even this year.

0-0

I ain't started yet.

But when they do start dropping, I need more mamas. So I likely won't get 'em. There is only one very nice goat I wish would drop a papa, so he could be a future herd sire.

I'm sure that one will have does, just on GP.

Well considering that we have deposits on 4 (potential bucklings) I would like to see bucklings so we have a good lot to choose from. Looking for 2 beautiful herd sires!!!

I have 13 bucklings and 3 does. Good because I had an order for 10 bucklings from back in Oct.
9 more does to go in March.
