Saanan Bucking for Sale

This little guy was born yesterday. He's a purebred Saanan, his grandsire is Full Circle's Bill Bailey who's some sort of grand champion. His sire, my big buck Thibadeaux, weighs in at about 300 pounds. He's gonna be a big boy when he grows up.

Anyone interested, we're in Southern Mississippi. He's being hand raised and bottle fed.

with dairy goat babies most take kids away at birth so that we, the humans, can get the milk from mama. this makes for much friendlier bottle babies and makes it possible to prevent the transfer of a disease called CAE in goats. dairy goats produce ALOT more milk than one or two kids can eat and if that milk is not milked out the udder on the doe can become destroyed by the weight of the milk (think of us human women after breastfeeding, boobs aren’t so perky afterwards...not that I’ve had kids, just come from a big family)

If you take him now $150. He was born January 3rd. That picture was taken when he was less than 12 hours old. The reason he was taken from his mom is he was way to big and his feet were pointing backwards and he got stuck in the birth canal. I nearly pulled his little head off getting him out. I cleaned him off, took him inside, gave him a nice warm shower, dried him off, and 20 minutes later he was on his feet and baaing for dinner. The mama rejected him. Won't have a thing to do with him, can't say that I blame her.

He's already been disbudded. He was born with horn buds as big as the end of my thumbs. First time I've ever seen that...

awww

Oh ok, poor lil guy! He is so cute though. I always wondered about the disbudding. I have never done that and never any problems with the billys I have. Is there a reason for that as well?? I wish i could come get him, I would give him a loving home and he would have lots of friends. I just wish I could find good homes for a few of my billy goats. I have too many billys. They actually all get along pretty well, except when they get on each others nerves when one tries to talk to a nanny at the fence LOL
They do good though. I hate getting attached to the males knowing I won't keep them all.

*sigh* That pic made me cry... I just lost my Sannan buckling a month ago, was gone out of state and had my mom feeding/checking the animals and he'd broke out of his pen and strangled himself, makes me sick thinking of it.... if I were closer and not getting ready for a big move I'd be "all over that".
