Thumbs up First Pygmy nanny due anytime!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy. Our first goat. A pgymy. Pregnant with at least twins and so sweet!
Will post pic later but wanted to share my wonderful news
Any suggestions for this nanny? Feed? post kidding? She will eventually be turned out with a young calm mini colt for company. I want her and the kids to be fast buddies with him as he is so lonely and sweet. yes she is hornless.

hello and congrats on mama goat

I have had so many new mamas and it is still exciting when they are going to have kids, but am always concerned if everyone is ok.
Anyways, I wanted to just offer advice on putting new babies in withcolts, horses, donkeys, etc...
Now this is just from experience and from friends experiences ok, doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to you.
Putting new babies with an animal that has never been with them kind before, approach with caution. It is strange to the colt and it is like when you bring a new cat into your home of others or puppy into home with others, it takes time to adjust. May I suggest, a pen or fence line along next to colt at first, slowly introducing? Working it's way up to being in same pasture? That way you can monitor behaviors. Also do you have coyotes where you live? New babies are vulnerable to preditors like that.
Any how I was just offering suggestion and do wish you the best with the baby and mama.
Keep us informed. God Bless and happy new year.
