We are in a snow storm

Is anyonbe else getting this storm that we are here in Colorado?? The whole state is shut down. We had to try to find the barn, because you can not see your hand in front of your face, and the snow drifts are up and over the barn.

We have a snow warning for all of Thursday, maybe a foot predicted at this elevation. I wonder if it's the same storm system?

We are in NE Colorado and have had about 18" so far with upto 26" predicted for our area. I can't even get to my animals right now because they are 4 miles from me. We got there this morning and everyone has food, water and a warm place to get in. A friend has a dozer and said he will get us there tomorrow if we can't get our suburban out there. We had the suburban stuck to the windows tonight and had to use the tractor to get out. This is only the second snow we have had so far this winter. Luckily, we didn't get the rain first like some counties so no power has been out that we know of. East of us lines are going down because they are so heavy from the ice.
Hope it quits soon, I still need to finish up some shopping and have to drive 30 miles to do it.

Laina

Sounds like you are having another Christmas blizzard. I lived in Aurora (Denver area) when we had a doozie of a christmas blizzard that shut us down for over a week ('64?). I had drifts to my rain gutters, and had a 100' driveway to dig out, so my car didn't go anywhere for a long time. When I finally made a trip to town (for TP...I was desperate ) it was on cross country skis. It was a blast though. Everyone helping each other.

I hope all your animals are well and the temps aren't too horrible.

45 degrees here right now. We should have a couple of feet of snow by now. Weird weather. I just heard El Nino is back. Stay warm and safe.

We are still in extreme drought with no change on the horizon. The ground is still bare.

We haven't even got the frosting, and we're also noted for our amount of snow. By now, we usually are measuring it in feet. Definatly weird weather...

What part of Colorado? DD is in Steamboat right now for Christmas and I haven't been able to reach her and was wondering if you were near there?

In my part of Colorado, Chaffee County, we have about 8-10", sunny this morning, with some wind. Life is pretty normal here, no school closurers that I've heard of.

Red face

Rain and flood warnings here on the northern coast of California; crab season is again on hold as our fishermen can't get out of the bay (we have one of the most dangerous bars on the West coast). One of my teaching buddies moved to Durango, CO last year....howzit there? Stay warm and dry and have a happy holidays!

Dang I wished you all would send a big snow down my way. Right now the temp is 55 here and cloudy with rain coming in soon. Dang I wished we would get snow here. Heck don't even know what a blizzard is now here. Oh well I got to get ready to go back outside to work in barn. Get old hay out put new down and get old straw out and lay fresh down.

Good Day everyone.
