PVC pipe grain feeder (PIC)

The 2x4 mounted above the feeder prevents tricky goats from eating from the opposite side.

Lucky I guess, well behind the trough are eight electric wire wooden spools and I figure that's all the entertainment they need. They don’t' jump in the trough, probably because it's so skinny and they are so fat....got to love um!!!

I would think it might work even better if you actually set it up so that the goats HAVE to eat from the other side. They can stick their head in and eat the feed, but can't stand in it, rub on it, etc.

How do you pour the grain into it without it spilling all over? It looks rather narrow.

southern girl~ I'm not sure the type of JOhn has but I think he does have horned goats and if you have a goat with horns then it is hard for them to stick their heads through as they'll get their horns stuck. REALLY a pain of the horned babes! HAHA!! But I do love the idea and think I might try to make one of these for mine!! It looks easy and like it'd work pretty good. Thanks for the pictures!!

Yes, I have some horned goats and some other goats without horns. My goats love to rumble during feeding times. With a head stuck through a hole they become venerable to injury. Grain feeding times are the best part of the day and whoever gets the most grain wins. I actually feed six other goats in another location just to keep the ruckus to a minimum.
