Single kids

Do you feed your does with single kids grain?
I have read some people creep feed the kids instead and leave the does on hay. I can't stand feeding grain to the does. They turn into pigs, fighting all the time, screaming every time I open the barn door.
My does are yearling boers.

I doubt you'd have to. Though if there's just a couple does you need fed, why not take them out of the pen on a collar and tie them to a t-post, then use individual bowls to feed them? That's what I do if the does are tame enough. or unless it's cold. Right now I Just call them through into the mikroom, which is nextdoor to the stall and feed them in there. Easy, convenient, and I can feed individual portions, and know how much each doe is getting every time.

Huh. Mine do that no matter what I feed them. They do it if they've just been fed and I walk back into the barn. I thought it meant they loved me.

Hi Rob..I doubt that your yearling doe needs the grain. So if you are wanting the kid to have some..I'd do it on the sly (creep feed). Your doe looks in good shape..right? I'd just keep her on her hay.
