Silly goats!

Goodness I tried to be the good caretaker and knowing that it's going to be nasty tonight head out to the barn and get all the hay racks full, doors shut that need to be, water full and decided it would be best to let the boers in to the big part of the barn that is rather large (minus the truck and wagon in there ) with hay racks and all but with little luck. They are very happy laying in their covered feed trough ( a large concrete trough that's about 4' wide and 40' long) where wind can hit em. They were even out eating on their round bale looking at me like "what are you doing out here?" So I got some grain and tried to get em to follow me and even booted some off the trough and they all just stood out in the rain. So I tried shooing them.... no luck..... so I grabbed one by the horns and she was ok but geez!! I'm trying to help and they're happy with the way they've got it right at this moment. I would rather the buck be happy outside so my barn don't stink haha but still was willing to share that even. HAHA!!
Anyone else have such silly goats? I'm beginning to think they're actually mountain goats in disguise cause my dairy goats would rather die than consider rain at ALL! HAHA!

Had you been successful in getting them inside, they would have been all over the truck and the wagon, playing with whatever else is in the barn, and you would have regretted letting them in. If they're used to being out, don't worry about them. Boers are hardy.

Some goats don't mind the elements. The other night, Isis slept outside by herself all night inspite of having the choice of 4 goat sheds in her pen. The temps were below zero and we even had light snow. She's a very large La mancha/Spanish/Boer cross doe. I just like to be sure all my goats have the option of shelter from bad weather.
