Unhappy I'm a bad goat mom...

I was ear tagging a couple of young does yesterday. The first couple went just fine. Then...Jarjar pulled her head right out of the stanchion and ear tagger and tore her ear full length down the side. I cried for about an hour and haven't tagged another since. Jarjar (she has ears like the character in the Starwars movie) seems fine today...better than me in fact.

Just needed to get that off my chest.

I have a nubian mixed doe that we bought from someone.....we all her Ears. Both of her ears are completly split, they tagged her twice and she ripped both out! She looks funny. They seem to recover pretty quick. Sorry this happened to you!

I really can not stand those darn tags, BUT of cource we have to have them. (for shows) We always have two people during the tagging. One holds the head still while the other does the tagging. Don't feel bad, I am sure it happens to lots of people.
