DH got me a early gift for BD

My DH got me a new little goat today. He is a pygmy buck and boy does he smell like one. WOW.. Now I can bring my girls in season.. We went out today and someone had some pygmies for sale so we went by there and I seen right off which one I wanted. The goats have been wormed before and shots. I asked all types of questions and showed them which one I wanted. They went in and got him for me. I checked him out and he looks like a really good little buck. He has no lumps, bald spots or any signs of being sick. He does have small horns and I will keep them because it makes him look more like a guy.. LOL.. I told the guy I want to take the little guy up to my DH to show him. He said ok. I went up to the car and took the little guy and told my DH this is the little guy I want he said ok honey and gave the guy the money and then told the guy this is my dear wife early birthday gift. We put the little guy in the car and my DD sit and held him until we got a box to put him in and then she sat next to the box talking to him and he finally laid down in the box and slept while we went on to town and done what needed to be done and came home. When we got home we wormed him, put lice meds on him gave him fresh hay, fresh water, medicated pellets alone with loose goat minerals. He is in a pen all to his self to keep watch on for about 4 weeks then he will be put in a new pen we are almost finished with for bucks. The person where we got the little guy from is going to have some babies soon and I get to make first selection of what I want. I told him I want him to contact me when have babies so I can get my pick and 2 other bucks for later. Hoping to make a great deal with him and get 10 does and 2 more bucks. I want to raise them myself on bottle so will have my hands full but my DH done said ok.

My new little buck name is Spike..

Yeah, pics - definitely! He sounds like a nice little fellow.

I sorta got goats for my BD from DH- goat-shaped cookie cutters and a pewter goat pendant/tree ornament. I think you got the better deal!

Here is the photo of Spike my early Birthday gift. My birthday is still a week and 3 days away but it is great to get a early gift for birthday.. I got this little guy to help bring my bigger gals in season since we didn't have a buck here and I tried a buck rag and didn't do no good so maybe now his smell will help. I right now still have him in another pen away from everyone to keep watch for any signs of sickness but so far knock on wood he has been eatting his hay, drinking his water and loving his feed I give him alone with loose goat minerals.. He seems to be a loving little guy. I just hope he does bring my bigger gals in season so I can get my buddies big guys to bred them soon. Time is clicking by and fast. I want Feb to March babies but it starting to look dim.

pookshollow he is close to 3 1/2 months old and he has already gotten the does pg where he came from. He already ready to go at it.. LOL. I checked on my gals that are bigger than him in the other pen and they love smelling his smell.. LOL.. I will not let him near anyone until after 4 weeks. Just making sure he not going to get sick. I hope that came out correct just now.

I will try to get better photos of him later when not pouring down rain here. His name Spike sure fits him too.
