can this doe be brought into heat?

I have a doe who was just here on stud service for over a full cycle and did not come into heat. Last year this doe was at the owner's place w/another buck of mine and did not settle. The owner thinks she saw some breeding activity last year but not sure the doe cooperated. Before the doe left my place the owner gave her a lutalyse shot but nothing happened. The doe owner is consulting w/ the vet who wants to try another lute shot in two weeks, and if that doesn't work he says there is something else to try. I'm wondering if that something else might be a combo of lute and cysterellen(sp?).
The vet did not recommend any lute dose higher than 1cc. I think she should try 2ccs, despite this not being used as an abortive. I know I argued w/ the vets a few years back and they finally gave in for 2ccs on my nigies - but this again was used to abort. BTW, this doe is quite large.
Any thoughts?

It should be a 2cc shot.

Hi,do you mean she is "big" as in overweight or big as in "boned" or "bodied"? If she is over weight, she may have a problem because of adipose (fat) tissue around her ovaries. If this is the case, weight loss may initiate regular heat cycles in the future.Best of luck.Regards,John.

She's a tall power built doe. I would say she has some extra weight on, but IMO not at all to the extent where it should affect cycling.

That was a thought with me too. I brought it up with the owner to ask her vet.
