I am buying myself a birthday present!

I talked to a breeder in NW OR and am making arrangements to go buy a buck, doe, and doeling, all beautiful Oberhaslis! My BD is October 24th, and if that day works for her, I'll be heading down there Tuesday to get them.

The doe is a half-sister to the Ober doe I have now, and the doeling is her 2006 kid. The buck is related, and very nice. I've seen the doe and the buck before, so I'm sure the doeling is also nice. I'll be doing line-breeding this fall on the doeling if she's well grown enough, and on my Ober doe. The doe I'm buying is bred to a terrific buck, due end of Feb, still giving about a quart on once daily milking. Since we are milking one a day here now, she'll fit right in. Can you tell I'm excited?

Now to find another LaMancha buck....

Couldn't think of a better BD present! And remember, no "new goat" announcments allowed without pics.
Happy Birthday - a little early!!

Thanks, Kim! I guess I'd better learn how to get my pics posted, lol. It looks like I won't be able to go pick them up until next Saturday due to scheduling conflicts, but that just means I get to anticipate them a little longer.

AND, I've got a couple leads on a LaMancha buck. Life is good!
