Talk about being blessed......

I think I definately am. Right now I think I should have 2 dead bucks but thanks to the Lord for I still have 3 potent bucks here. My saanen buck Hal (20 months old) decided he needed to see what the fuss was all about and so get in with my new boer group with Bruiser and apparently (so sayeth DH) they had been going at it for about 2 hrs when I found out and Hal had his head in blood. I got Hal and Tom back where they belonged and thought I had all bases covered only to come out this am to Hal standing quite far from the herd but still out. On the way back to where he went I found Tom (an $800 reg saanen) hanging by his back leg in a 2x4" fence but fortunately his front legs could touch the ground. I hoisted him back out of that predicament and found no broken bones thank heavens. When I went out this evening Tom and Hal were both in their pens and Tom was walking without hardly a limp so I breathed a sigh of relief. Having 3 bucks of 2 different breeds is going to be tough without electric I'm afraid so on to some more work. Can't them silly horny things remember that they need to shoot for innerbreed ONLY>?! HAHA!! White to white....... boer to boer.......... it would make the fencing situation so much easier. As it is now Tom and Hal are on house arrest in the barn until I can get the electric in place. Stupid boys....... that testosterone always seems to get in the way of logic.......

By the way I don't think that anyone was in heat when the 2 stooges made the great escape but I guess no one will know for sure till spring if I get any snow white airplane eared kids.... oh joy.......

They certainly have kept things interesting for you! I am glad none of your bucks were hurt--and- Boer/Saanen cross will grow out just fine!

Boy howdy, do they sound like frat boys at a bar... the similarities are remarkable.

I always figure that if I give an animal an opportunity to kill itself it will.

Glad to hear your's ended well.

Well that is truly something to be thankful for. I almost lost my little Jasper twice now. But I know God is keeping him around for a reason. :-)

I think they boys were to tied up to do any "damage" to your breeding plans.
