question about buck in rut

Is it normal for a buck in rut to be really vocal? Our Toggenburg boy is hollering his head off this past few days. He is in with the does, who are in heat. Usually he is pretty quiet, but every time I go outside he looks over and bellows. I don't remember him doing this last year but he was only a yearling then and not nearly as mature as he is this year. He is eating well, peeing and pooping normally, so it doesn't seem to be illness-related.

I just wish he would tone it down a bit. His smell is BAD ENOUGH!

Do I need to worry?
