Goat "toy" questions

Now that we have the building and pen done, I realize there is nothing in the yard for the girls to play on!

What do they require? Any ideas I can impliment by tomorrow?

Thanks!
Ricki

We have a few large tree stumps for ours.

Just a note of caution. Be very careful with teeter totters or cross over bridges. Too easy to get all or part of someone pinned under one of those.

If you can find those huge wooden spools that the electric and telephone companies use....they are wonderful!

I've got an old truckbed cap, two car tires with the inside metal thingies, a huge tractor tire, and a couple car tires without the inside thingies. There are also several cinder blocks, flat end up. I've got a couple cable spools, but they still have the wire on them! lol, so I've got to get the rest of the wire burned up for recycling, then the spools will go in. I've also got large plywood boxes that our highschool cheerleaders used to stand on during football games in the buck pen. I've also found that one of my bucks, Andre, Loves tireswings. He butts it, talks to it, and even sleeps next to it. They're easy to hang from the raftors of your barn or a tree branch.

Look for Little Tykes slides and climby things at garage sales. The kids love 'em!

We had tall metal water troughs left over from the horse days, but are they are too tall for goats to drink out of. I flipped them over and the goats love to jump on them. A couple of the goats seem entertained by the noise they can make jumping around on them.

Too cute Ozark! Mine also love playing on stumps. Here is a pic of a 3-tier gym that my husband made for them:

What about rock piles, or is that more for sheep?

My goats climb on everything! I once put a 8" x 12" concrete block down and in a hearbeat my adult doe had all four feet on it. Then the wether came over and put his 2 front feet on the block. Their feet almost completely covered the block while they stood there looking around like they were on top of Everest.

I built them a hoove trimmer using 2 - 2" x 6" x 8' planks covered with rough cement. The 2 planks are attached by loading ramp hardware to a 4' high platform like a broken teeter totter. It is VERY stable otherwise I would not allow them access to it. At times there will be 6 goats on it at once.

In a pinch a cardboard box will work but they may eat it.
