I think goat has CAE

Ok so I already posted what is wrong with him, but now that was more about his feet. In doing some reading I think this goat might have CAE. He lays down a lot,, he is stiff and haunchy. Started off as lame in the front and cause I am new to goats I thought it was from lack of hoof care, it has progressivly gotten worse so now everything seems to point to CAE. I am not going to be happy as these are my parents goats and I moved all the animals over there (I have horses and ride with people over there) so chores could be done at one spot, so now I could have exposed my goats to CAE! I know my parents probably wont do the test which around here is almost 40 dollars per goat! I might end up just doing it myself just so I know or move mine out (like tonight as soon as I get home!) and test them. I have to talk to them about testing him or putting him down, he is in pain.

it can be cae but years of neglect hoof care can ruin knee joints as well. there is also mycoplasma that can damage joints.
testing is a good idea.

You can't tell from looking at him that he has CAE anymore than you can detect HIV from appearance alone. Get him tested if you're worried and quarantine him in the meantime (which is a smart policy in introducing any new animal anyway).
